9/18 HUC Meeting

Board Updates:
- approved website
- broad agreement to bring more people with financial connections
- EBay interested in coming on to help audit (CPA)
- website update: Looks good. signed contract with designer out of LA (same guy who does the Lei out and LA ulti website)
- new URL: QR code for discs to lead to the website
- business credit card to replace loading up individuals

Andrew:
- talked to comptroller: we are all paid up on back fines!
- reinstatement form coming soon from them
- that form lets us get official reinstated with the state of Texas
- then start the process with the IRS to get the 501c3 back

Op/Ops:
- Fall League kicking off soon
- Draft party at Rudyards
- Biggest Fall League in a long time
- Mixed at HSP: 11 guys and 11 ladies on each team
- Mens at another location
- Coordinator for each league.
- Very last week will all be at HSP (finals)
- Looking into Winter League fields (can't reserve from city of Houston more than 4 weeks out)
- Goalty League: fields are reserved (nice fields in EADO). 4 goalty teams starting in Nov. Registration open in October.
- May reserve more fields if more people sign up. Planning Thursdays right after Fall League ends

Kelsey:
- Disc Golf tourney TD: Stephen Kelly
- Woodlands course that he likes
- Will need to do more marketting. Only 1 person signed up so far
- Reserved the course so it should be ours now.
- Are we opening this up to the disc golf community? Yes. Maybe they'll come join HUC? There already is a discgolf group. Need to think about how we want to get them invovled
- Kelsey getting bag tags to come with each registration
- Open this up to Dallas and Austin as well.

- Indoor tourney: location is reserved. Out torwards Katy, but nice fields.
12pm-6pm: Cam volunteered to be the TD for it.

- Kelsey is the college sectionals TD
- Rice fields are reserved
- For next meetings: put in a bid for Master's Regionals (we had been approved before covid hit)

- Do we need a liaison to the Woodlands and to Clear Lake, etc. 

Shiru:
- Rudyards: fundraising Happy Hour event on a Tuesday
- Not very specific about the split of money we'll get
- want to get some raffles going
- Winter league draft party with a very drafty type of event. Bring up people who are drafted. Make it fun

Emilie:
- Starting LinkedIn stalking
- Will chat with Shiru about winter league location/partnership for the fradt party + 

Meagan:
- Add lots of volunteers to the DEI 
- COVID protocol:unvaccinated requires a weekly test. 50% of them dropped out of the league
- PCR tests availability could be an issue BUT only 12 people out of 172 affected by this
- Will need hand sanitizer and wipes at every field
- 3 dates throughout the league when we'll have to submit a negative test in addition
- Discussion about what happens if/when there is a positive case
- Covid Protocol will go out to everyone in the league

Youth: Chad and Squeaks making head way. Chad putting together a budget, Squeaks is doing a logo
- Metro hosted a Black Friday tourney a couple years ago
- Adding a youth division this year
- Op will help with setting this up
- How can we add a clinic type hour at our leagues

Ames:
- How do we engage the student population in Houston?
- How do we help the colleges?
- Right now, $250 for each team. Need more to actually make an impact on the teams
- Can we ask the community for money for this? Crowdfund to help.
- Split up the slack into college and club so we can add the captains
