TBUF is BACK! at our traditional home of East Beach in Galveston! We look forward to bringing back the 1 day ultimate party on the beach and the return of the booze, this time with water front views!
TBUF History
TBUF is Texas’s premiere beach tournament and is known as the longest consecutively running beach tournament in the world! We’ve been thrilled to bring you this tournament for more than 30 years. 2023 & 2024 TBUF was held at South Padre Island to explore beaches and 2025 we are back home in Galveston!
Frequently Asked Questions
- What divisions are offered? Divisions are 2:2 and 3:1. 2/2 is 2 male identifying players and 2 female identifying players on the field at a time, 3/1 is 3 male identifying players and 1 female identifying player. While this is a fun tournament and we allow teams some discretion with the rules, teams in the 2/2 division can not be forced to play with 3/1 ratios.
- What are team sizes? 12 players max
- Is this 1 or 2 days? 1 Day Only! Saturday
- What type of footwear is allowed? Bare feet is a great option. Sand socks 2nd best. Don’t have any? We will be selling them at tourney central. Last resort is tennis shoes. No Cleats
- Where are the fields? East Beach. 1923 Boddeker Rd. Galveston, TX. 77550 . Playing right next to the water!
- Park Rules: No glass. Dogs allowed if on leash. No camping. No open fires.
- How much does this cost? Before 2/16 $275. Before 3/2 $325. Before 4/13 $375. After 4/13 $450
- What should I wear? we encourage costumes, themed gear, or just a white & dark. Sun screen. hat. umbrella. Good attitude.
- Merch for sale? There will be jerseys, hats, discs, the normal stuff for sale at tourney central. No pre-sales.
- Is there parking? $15 per car collected by the beaches, not by HUC. Please carpool and bring cash.
- Who does this tournament support? We use all proceeds to support several amazing causes. Except for limited volunteer expenses, all profit is donated back to these communities and is disclosed in the HUC annual financials. The Houston Ultimate Community is a non-profit focused on expanding adult and youth Ultimate across Houston, Texas in order to encourage active lifestyles, eliminate income barriers, celebrate Houston’s diversity and make Houston an Ultimate Destination.
- Where’s the party? Beer will be provided to participants at tourney central. After party? We’ll figure it out eventually.
