Rice Women’s Ultimate Frisbee, or Torque, is a competitive club team composed of a diverse group of girls. We come together from a variety of different backgrounds to not only compete, but have fun and encourage each other. As our wonderful coaches, Emma Wine and Ashley Shelor, always say, each of us adds an ingredient to our collective soup. Then, when any of us needs a boost, we can take a sip and get all that energy that the team is giving to us. We are a growing program with a history of success. Torque won back to back D-III National Championships in 2014 and 2015 and came in second at Nationals in 2016. We also qualified for the D-III National Championships in 2018 and 2021, and we are excited to see where the future will bring us!
